WIFI good or bad in Europe hotels?
Can anyone who has done Europe hotel trips give feedback on what the wifi was like in the hotel rooms? I've heard it was pretty bad and unable to get on most nights? And can anyone recommend any good data/phone plan deals for travelling through Europe?
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
For the most part I have had ok experience with wifi at hotels (Italy, France, England, Germany). It really depends on where you go - more rural locations is more challenging, a city is pretty good.
The plan I like to use is with Lycamobile because it is relatively cheap and it is prepaid so you aren't stuck with a contract and can customise what you are looking for.
I had some bad experience with the wifi in hotels. When I signed in my computer and phone would slow to a glacial pace and freeze. They are mostly not secured lines so I shouldn't be surprised. I had a SIM card from Swisscom is was good (but you have to get it in Switzerland). I think the law changed out in the EU, so now you don't get crazy roaming charges when traveling to multiple countries.
